Raphael Linden

Raphael Linden is a writer, filmmaker and college consultant based in the New York City area, where they recently completed an MFA in Creative Writing at New York University.

Raphael was born in California, grew up in Costa Rica, and attended a French lycée, so they’re fully fluent in Spanish, French, and English. They graduated with Honors from Wesleyan University in 2015, where they tutored peers in language and essay writing. They also worked with inmates through the Wesleyan Center for Prison Education.

They have over 9 years of experience teaching essay writing, languages, all common core subjects and standardized tests including the ACT, SAT, ISEE and SSAT. Their teaching style is supportive, consistent, and focused. Most recently, they taught an undergraduate creative writing course at NYU, where they guided their students through the brainstorming, writing, and revision process. They are adept at helping students, especially those who might not consider themselves strong writers, create powerful and captivating narratives.

Raphael was named after the Renaissance painter or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, depending on who’s asking.
