Marcus Lewis

Marcus has nearly two decades of experience in the world of college admissions and essay writing. Throughout his career, he has helped students from all over the world achieve their dreams and get into the most prestigious schools in the world.

A native Minnesotan, Marcus lived in Los Angeles and New York before settling in Nashville. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a master’s in American Studies from Columbia University as well as extensive curriculum design and writing experience. Marcus prides himself in the ability to get a student to discover and convey something about themselves they never knew before working with him. Marcus tends to not be very strict or stressed out, and he uses a relaxed and conversation-driven approach to help empower students to present the best versions of themselves. Indeed, his favorite part of this work is getting to know students and seeing the pride they feel as they learn to work autonomously. Marcus is also obsessed with the finer points of grammar and will relentlessly copy edit every essay before him (and then explain the grammar rules to his students). Outside of work, he also makes his own crossword puzzles and hosts a trivia competition.
