Michelle: I Got Into Business School!
February 17, 2014 :: Admissionado Team
It’s been about three months since my last blog post. Wow, time has absolutely flown by and a lot has happened. I got a subscription to Netflix, I started watching Breaking Bad and Orange is the New Black, I briefly considered joining a gym, and oh yeah… I got accepted to business school!
I’m still in somewhat of a state of shock regarding how things have worked out. After playing the waiting game with my Round 1 apps, I was finally freed from my cage of anxiety when I got the call from Yale saying I had been admitted! With this first acceptance, I knew that no matter what happened with my other applications I would definitely be starting school in the fall. At the risk of sounding too touchy-feely, I have to admit that it was a pretty magical moment, which alleviated months of stress. After Yale, a flurry of other good news occurred, as I received acceptances from Kellogg, Tuck, and Fuqua.
In the midst of all of that joy, I also received a golden ticket, also known as an interview invite, from HBS. If you recall, in Round 1, I was put on “further consideration,” which means that I was neither invited to interview nor rejected. I’m not letting myself get too excited yet, but it’s nice to be moving out of that limbo period.
Anyway, I am beyond grateful to have options. When I began this process, I was just hoping for one acceptance; I never imagined myself in this position. I’ll need to make some hard decisions over the next few weeks, but this is kind of a freakin’ awesome problem to have. After all, there really is no wrong decision.
Woohoo!
