Sam Kinsman

A teacher, coach, and guide at heart, Sam has mentored students and clients in many different fields and settings. After graduating from Brown University, Sam became a full-time tutor, coaching students to top scores on the ACT, SAT, GRE and GMAT. Four years ago, he began guiding clients through the convoluted university admissions process. Sam has worked with students who have gained admission to top schools including MIT, Cornell University, University of Chicago, USC, UCLA, Boston University, Syracuse University, and the London School of Economics.

A Swiss, American, and Costa Rican citizen, Sam’s multicultural background makes him an excellent fit for international applicants who want to showcase the contribution they can make to a school’s diversity. He’s passionate about gaining an in-depth understanding of students’ backgrounds and true motivations, which allows him to help them shape their stories convincingly and put forward the best version of themselves.

In addition to his work as an admissions consultant, Sam also works as a holistic therapist and Authentic Relating workshop facilitator. In each of his roles, Sam is motivated by his passion for helping people connect more deeply both with themselves and with others. When he’s not working, you can find him in Costa Rica, exploring new hiking trails, doing acroyoga and dancing salsa and bachata.
