Nour Khachemoune

Nour Khachemoune is passionate about research, writing, and medicine. She is originally from the Washington, D.C. area, and graduated with her A.B. from Harvard University with honors and degrees in chemistry and archaeology.

While at Harvard, she served as the president of the Harvard Writing and Public Service Initiative, a volunteer organization providing college application review and mentorship to disadvantaged students in the Boston area. For many of her students, attending college was more of a dream than a concrete possibility, and she is proud to have helped many students achieve this dream. Her students gained acceptances to prestigious schools, all while being the first in their families to attend college. Beyond WPSI, one of Nour’s most cherished experiences from college was serving as a Peer Advising Fellow at Harvard, serving as a direct, personal mentor to first-years as they transitioned to college.

Since graduating from college, Nour has worked as a medical journalist focusing on diabetes, a condition that has affected her family in the past and that she feels strongly about tackling. In the future, she plans to pursue a medical degree. When working with students, Nour is personable, seeking genuine connection and an open relationship. She motivates her students with honesty and excitement, helping them to discover their passions and achieve all that they can. Her students have been accepted to Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, and a number of other schools during her time as a mentor. Mentorship is truly something that comes naturally to Nour, and something that will be a lifelong project.
