The University of California (UC) system has ten campuses (Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz). UCLA, Berkeley, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Irvine and Davis regularly rank among US News & World Report's top 50 US universities. The collective impact of their research faculty is all but unparalleled by other state university systems. (UCSF is also ranked internationally, especially for their biomedicine program.) UC doesn't use the Common App, but you can apply to as many University of California campuses as you want by completing their one application.
