Uyen Tang

Uyen has led multiple lives in many countries. She grew up in Lancaster, PA, also affectionately known as Amish Country.

She started her career at Citibank in the UK and transitioned into serving as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State in the Tajikistan, where she won multiple awards for advancing human rights and democracy. It was also in Tajikistan where she learned how to make the best PLOV you’ve probably (n)ever tasted. After traveling the world, Uyen returned to her Pennsylvania roots and earned her MBA at The Wharton School.

While at Wharton she enjoyed working with entrepreneurs at the Small Business Development Center to solve their business challenges and serving as a Graduate Assistant on the Admissions Committee to screen applications and interview candidates for the next class of awesome MBAs. After a few years in strategy consulting, she decided to follow her passion and start her own award-winning e-commerce company, Uyen is continuing to pursue her passion in Washington, D.C. where she works at a strategic investment firm that invests in technology startups.
