Welcome to Wall Street. Columbia and Wall Street go hand-in-hand. CBS has (literally) revolving doors connecting professors, students, and alumni of CBS with the biggest-name New York firms. Between these connections and the Master Class program, CBS trains and connects its MBAs with “the real world” unlike any other program can.

Master Classes

Master Classes, as the name indicates, are designed to help MBAs gain mastery in specific areas. These second year project-based classes are geared toward connecting theory with the world outside the university’s halls.

Columbia’s strong entrepreneurship Program is a source of pride for CBS. A plethora of entrepreneurial resources exist for the Columbia student, from the CEO (Columbia Entrepreneurs Organization) to the Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center, which has a fund that provides up to $250,000 (!!!) for student ventures.

January Admissions

For those who don’t need that summer internship, CBS offers the opportunity to skip the internship and finish the MBA in six months less time. This is the famed “J-term.”

Chazen Institute

Columbia is rightfully proud of its global program offering exchange opportunities, study abroad options in 21 countries and study tours.

Program on Social Intelligence (PSI)

Columbia’s unique PSI program of courses and extracurricular activities is designed to create leaders of the future. This program develops all the dynamic soft-skills MBAs will need.

Admissionado Tips

Apply Early Decision

Yes it’s expensive, and yes it’s a commitment, but applying Early Decision is the best and quickest way to show Columbia that you are serious. And if you can afford the $6K, you have very little to lose.

The “Big Apple Fit”

You can’t apply to Columbia without acknowledging the importance of its location. This “fit” can be many things, from goals that are in line with this fit (goals in Finance, Consulting, Media, Advertising make particular sense), to a global mentality (an applicant with real international work experience, speaks many languages, etc.) to more personal aspects (being dynamic, fast-paced, independent, and cosmopolitan). Showing the Adcom how you fit into Columbia and into the Big Apple will go a long way in boosting your application.
