Brown University

As close as the Ivy League will ever come to indie rock: free spirited and fiercely independent. Brown students tend to be laid back, creative, and intellectually curious. Every year, approximately 1,500 smart students go to Brown to find themselves. Sadly, since Brown offers its students little structure, many who attend Brown will indeed find themselves … lost

The New Curriculum

No strict academic frameworks here. Brown students are encouraged to build and personalize their own custom degrees and, since there are no distribution requirements, they can take whatever classes strike their fancy. Even better, they can take any and all courses Pass/Fail.

Providence is one of Brown’s most valuable assets. The shops and restaurants near campus provide a lot of cool entertainment and give the city a classic college-town feel.

Flexible Housing

There’s a place to call home for everyone at Brown. Whether you want to live with classmates in a residence hall or friends in an off-campus apartment; work and live in a co-op; bunk up with your pledge class in a Greek House; or live with a group of people sharing common interests in a Program House, Brown’s got you covered.
