Each week, we sit down and get to know one of our MBA Consultants.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Admissionado MBA Consultant Uyen Tang.
So Uyen, where are you living these days?
Washington DC
And your MBA is from…
Wharton
Why did you go for an MBA?
I wanted to go to business school so that I could obtain the skills necessary to run my own business. Coming from a non-business background, I wrote in my essays that I wanted to gain business skills during the MBA program, enter into management consulting for a broad experience in a variety of industries, then start my own business. Now, I’m doing that exactly. I took advantage of classes, clubs, and programs that helped me to pursue this career path and I know I wouldn’t have the confidence and resources to be an entrepreneur if I hadn’t gone to business school.
What’s your all-time favorite memory from business school?
Graduation. I remember it was a gorgeous spring day in Philadelphia. It was wonderful to meet all of my classmates’ families and see everyone so incredibly happy and proud of going through our two years of b-school together. While bittersweet, I love thinking back on that day and remembering everyone’s smiling faces.
What do you like most about being an MBA consultant?
I love meeting and learning about new people. All the applicants have such amazing stories and are very accomplished.
What’s the COOLEST place you’ve ever been?
The summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It was super cool… cold even. Climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro the year after college boosted my confidence and made me feel like I could reach any goal I set for myself. It’s also a beautiful peak. The sunrise over the icebergs was stunning.
What’s something surprising about you?
I once was able to take a paper clip and, through a series of trades, turn it into over $600 worth of products in two weeks. Imagine what I could do with a whole box of paper clips!
