R3 & R4 MBA Deadlines (2019)
January 23, 2019 :: Admissionado Team
January may be the peak of the MBA application season, but it’s definitely not the end.
In the traditional three-round U.S. MBA application season, the next batch of deadlines would be “Round 3” around the end of March (Round 1 was mid-September, Round 2 early January). Nowadays deadlines are not as clustered and many schools have more than three application rounds, but there’s still a distinct spike in deadlines in late March.
Below, we’ve identified the next deadline for most major MBA programs (September 2019 intake unless otherwise stated). Let’s take a look:
ESADE round four deadline is February 12*
INSEAD (January 2020 intake) round one deadline is February 20*
IESE round four deadline is March 1*
LBS round three deadline is March 1*
INSEAD (September 2019 intake) round four deadline is March 6
CMU Tepper round three deadline is March 7*
Cambridge Judge round four deadline March 8*
Emory Goizueta round four deadline is March 8
UNC Kenan-Flagler round four deadline is March 11
UW Foster round three deadline is March 14
NYU Stern round four deadline is March 15
Michigan Ross round three deadline is March 18
Notre Dame Mendoza round four deadline is March 19
Duke Fuqua round three deadline is March 20
Dartmouth Tuck round three deadline is April 1
Georgetown round three deadline is April 1*
McCombs round three deadline is April 2
Stanford GSB round three deadline is April 2
Wharton round three deadline is April 2
UVA Darden round four deadline is April 3
Chicago Booth round three deadline is April 4
Berkeley Haas round three deadline is April 4
Oxford Said round four deadline is April 5
MIT Sloan round three deadline is April 8
CBS regular decision deadline is April 10
Cornell Johnson round four deadline is April 10
Northwestern Kellogg round three deadline is April 10
UCLA Anderson round three deadline is April 16
Yale SOM round three deadline is April 16
(* indicates that there are other deadline rounds later in the year, all other deadlines are final.)
As you can see, most U.S. schools are still sticking to a three-round model, while European schools often have more rounds, approximating rolling admissions. One big name missing from this list: Harvard. HBS eliminated their third round last year, and it will be interesting to see if others follow suit in 2020. For now, though, latecomers still have a lot of doors open to them. Round three is more challenging, but it’s definitely still possible to gain admission to an MBA program for September 2019.
