School Profiles: Brandeis University

November 14, 2012 :: Admissionado Team

Brandeis is formally known as one of the best research universities in the country, but for the past few years has re-imagined itself as a place that “combines the intimacy of a small liberal arts college” with their super intellectual research university atmosphere. What does that mean?

It means that you can have all the academic success and resources available at other schools, but still feel comfortable, social, and be free to learn the way YOU want to. Outside of the classroom, you’ll have access to tons of on-campus organizations such as performance groups, religious groups, service programs, and cultural awareness groups. One of the most popular hang-out spots on campus is Cholmondeley’s: the campus coffeehouse that hosts lots of concerts, open mic nights, comedy shows, and other events all year ’round.

When it comes to sports, Brandeis has 15 Division III teams, but the mens soccer team is their pride and joy. I know soccer isn’t a big deal in the states yet, but you should definitely check out a game at Brandeis to see what everyone’s talking about.
