Yaron Dahan

Yaron, a.k.a. “The Professor,” is Admissionado’s Head Consultant, and one of Admissionado’s oldest (and some would say wisest) admissions gurus.

Besides the usual skills critical to an MBA admissions expert, Yaron has deep experience with MBA programs in Europe, helping folks convert waitlists into admits, and sharpening clients’ interview skills. Yaron also heads up the research division, helping both clients and Admissionado alike remain up-to-date with the latest trends and news in the world of business school admissions. Mr. Dahan has a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature from the Sorbonne, and is well versed in film directing.

He has lived and worked in half a dozen countries, speaks French, Hebrew, German, and un poco Espanol. He has worked previously as an English Lecturer at various universities, including several French Business Schools and the University of Paris. Yaron embodies the ideal consultant by leveraging experience both in business school admissions consulting as well as the arts. We call him The Professor because, well, we all have a lot to learn from him.

What's the COOLEST place you've ever visited? Why was it so cooool?

I visited the D-Day landing site near Armentier in Normandy, France, and you could still see the Pontoons standing in the water, and the ground was pockmarked with hilly depressions, as the outcrop looking over the sea had been a heavily fortified Wehrmacht position. The strangeness of the nature, combined with the concrete military installations overlooking the Atlantic was so imbued with a sense of history (and tragedy) that I was in awe.

Why did you go for an MBA?

I do not come from a business background, but from a creative one - from literature and film. This is one of the most unique things we do at Admissionado, this combination of business and creativity. and here, I get the unique chance to apply my storytelling skills to the applications of their clients, helping them realize their dreams by squeezing every last drop of passion, creativity and drama out of their stories to get them into the best B-schools in the world.

What is your Achilles Heel? Your biggest weakness?

I'm a type-monster. Totally. Ask Jon, or Lauren or Claudia. And I do reread my stuff, but I just have a blindness to my own typos.
