Ben Koren

After college at Brown, he set sail for the booming financial markets of Sao Paulo, Brazil where he worked at a local private equity firm investing in renewable energy and environmental infrastructure.

A few deals (and more than a few sunburns) later, he decided it was time to return to his hometown of New York to pursue his MBA at Columbia Business School. Ben took every finance and entrepreneurship class available (including the competitive Greenhouse program) and was elected to Student Government, where he worked closely with the Admissions Department on a number of initiatives. After Columbia, he worked in technology and media investment banking at UBS before founding eCommerce startup, Frameology.

Ben speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish and has traveled to over 25 countries. When not developing his startup or helping aspiring MBAs get into top programs, you will find him planning his next trip (probably to China, where he last visited in 1999).

I’m allergic to kiwis. I found that out on my first day of work. My face swelled up. That was my first impression at the office. It was not pretty. I also discovered that I love kiwis, which was particularly unfortunate given the circumstances.
