Georgetown offers students a ton of ways to get involved with the community. There are over 100 university-sponsored service programs and opportunities from tutoring at-risk youth to offering free legal counsel and health services to underserved populations in the city. Different departments also offer courses in Community Based Learning, giving students hands-on opportunities to study through courses such as the sociology department’s class “Social Entrepreneurship: Leading Social Change.” Georgetown fully engages with its location in the nation’s capital to benefit both students and the community.
