Meet our MBA Admissions Consultants: Regina Altaras

January 09, 2015 :: Admissionado Team

Each week, we sit down and get to know one of our MBA Admissions Consultants.

Regina-AltarasNot to brag, but we have an amazing team of people, and there’s more to them than just their top school pedigree or their devilish good looks. When you’re choosing an MBA Admissions consultant, you don’t just want someone in your industry or who went to your dream school. You need an MBA Admissions consultant who will be able to work with you, connect with you, and push you to be your best… and that’s not the same person for everyone. Some people need an empathetic touch; others need a drill sergeant. That’s why we think it’s so important for you to get to know our guys before you get to work.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Admissionado MBA Admissions Consultant Regina Altaras.

So Regina, where are you living these days?
New York

And your MBA is from…
Columbia Business School

Why did you go for an MBA?
I wanted to move into pharmaceutical marketing, after having spent time in biotech process development. Regeneron was close to launching its first product and I wanted to be part of that. Plan worked. I moved into Marketing and led the launch of Arcalyst, the first product.

What’s your all-time favorite memory from business school?
Graduation… receiving my diploma with my then 1-yr old in my arms.

What do you like most about being an MBA consultant?
Meeting different people with a vast array of backgrounds, jobs, interests and helping them get into schools. They are so grateful for the help; it’s an amazing feeling.

What’s the COOLEST place you’ve ever been?
Bangkok. Mix of old and new world with such richness in temples and palaces contrasted with such poverty of the streets.

Tell us something surprising about you.
As “old” as I am, I love to PARTY!!! Especially if there’s latin music involved!

Two truths and a lie.
– I have 2 master’s; one in biotech, one MBA.
I have been in the U.S. since 1998, but just last month became a citizen.
I LOOOOVE cooking
