Meet our MBA Consultants: Dan Lennon

November 14, 2014 :: Admissionado Team

Each week, we sit down and get to know one of our MBA Consultants.

Dan-LennonNot to brag, but we have an amazing team of people, and there’s more to them than just their top school pedigree or their devilish good looks. When you’re choosing an MBA consultant, you don’t just want someone in your industry or who went to your dream school. You need an MBA consultant who will be able to work with you, connect with you, and push you to be your best… and that’s not the same person for everyone. Some people need an empathetic touch; others need a drill sergeant. That’s why we think it’s so important for you to get to know our guys before you get to work.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Admissionado MBA Consultant Dan Lennon.

So Dan, where are you living these days?
Los Angeles, CA

And your MBA is from…
Wharton

Why did you go for an MBA?
I went as a career switcher to transition from the military into an investing role. I started school the month Lehman Bros failed. The combination of the hiring market being a bloodbath coupled with me not knowing exactly what I wanted to do caused me to teach myself how to interview for almost every type of post MBA role.

What’s your all-time favorite memory from business school?
MBA Rugby trips and going to the MBA Rugby world championships. We played against all the other top schools in the US and from abroad, and were the top US MBA rugby team both years.

What do you like most about being an MBA consultant?
I like helping people tell their stories and achieve their goals. There is an art and a science to crafting an MBA application which I was taught when I applied. I enjoy passing this knowledge on.

What’s the COOLEST place you’ve ever been?
Mentawais Islands off Sumatra. Best surf in one of the most remote places. Picture perfect surf peeling between deserted tropical islands.

What’s something surprising about you?
I was on a dancing with the stars segment on entertainment tonight.
