Survey Says: Best College Food

December 04, 2013 :: Admissionado Team

Not only is there light at the end of the application tunnel–sometimes there’s some pretty delicious college food. We asked our college consultants what their favorite college, dorm, or dining hall food was. Here’s what they had to say. (Parents, you may want to skip this one.)

Best College Food

Chris EliasBrown University: Chicken Finger Friday at the Ratty. My cholesterol level can confirm this fact.

Lia LenartHarvard University: Cupcakes. SO GOOD. I would eat dessert first every night there were cupcakes. Otherwise, I’m a huge fan of tater tots and fries—would get a huge plate of these. Home fries are good as well. (See a theme?) I would load up. Ah, I miss that.

Stephen BlackHarvard University: Harvard makes a solid effort to dole out the freshest produce, which is a nice change of pace after you’ve been steadily chowing down on late-night pizza and snacks.

Kevin EasterlyJohns Hopkins University: It’s gotta be the roast beef sub from Charles Street Market (aka CSM aka CharMar). My sacred Friday afternoon ritual. All I can say is so… much… HORSERADISH–SO GOOOOOD.

Ike WilsonYale University: Impossible to answer. Every once in a while throughout the year, they’d surprise us with rare, cool dishes. But of the semi-consistently served ones, I might have to say the mint ice cream. Nice and simple, and always good, even in the heart of a New Haven winter.

Mike MochizukiBrown University: I still dream about the late night falafel I could get at one of my college’s dining halls.  Crispy brown on the outside.  Deliciously smooth on the inside.  Nothing beats good falafel.

Now that your mouth is watering, use your hunger for motivation! At the end of this whole college application process, what awaits you is a degree, an education, and the best fried chicken, ice cream, sandwiches, falafel, cupcakes, and vegetables (really, Stephen?) of your life.
